HomeWorks

HomeWorks is a Government backed scheme which aims to engage a broad range of tradespeople to promote energy efficiency retrofit to the owners of homes where they are already working. HomeWorks is being trialled in Cornwall with a view to rolling it out to the rest of the country if successful. Participating tradespeople will receive a payment for each successful referral.

Training

HomeWorks registered local tradespeople are required to complete a small number of clear information modules that will enable them to discuss improving energy efficiency with homeowners, the key opportunities to undertake such works and provide information for the homeowner to contact a local PAS2035 Retrofit Co-ordinator

Retrofit

Retrofit is the process of improving an existing home with poor energy efficiency into an energy efficient one by improvements to the fabric and services of the home. These measures may include the fitting of insulation to the loft, walls and floors, double or triple glazing, draught proofing, ventilation with heat recovery and low carbon heating systems.
